Mohs hardness scale was invented by Friedrich Mohs in 1812. Since that moment, the Mohs hardness scale has assisted geologist in determining the identity of minerals. The activities in this kit will familiarize students with Mohs hardness scale and help them develop vital skills they will use throughout their studies in earth science. This kit also provides an opportunity to take samples from the local environment and investigate the relative hardness of the minerals around them. Kit contains enough materials form 15 groups. Teacher's Guide and Student Study and Analysis copymasters are included.
