Use the Inclined Plane to determine the coefficient of kinematic and static friction, mechanical advantage and efficiency of an inclined plane, etc. It is comprised of a hardwood inclined plane, 24" x 4", fitted with a 22mm diameter pulley, mounted at the free end. It is hinged to a horizontal polished wooden base, which is fitted with an aluminum arc graduated both vertically and angularly. The inclined plane can be fixed at any angle up to 45° or at a suitable height with a metal clamping wingnut.
